Kaathu
A heritage Kanjivaram weaver who'd never sold online — and didn't want to look like every other saree marketplace.
The challenge with a craft this old is that the web usually flattens it: harsh lighting, cluttered grids, the romance stripped out. Kaathu needed a presence that felt as considered as the cloth — but on a Bespoke budget, without a full custom build.
We took the Bespoke route — a best-in-class WooCommerce theme, then customised hard until none of the theme was left visible. The work went into restraint: a warm, traditional palette drawn from the dyes themselves, generous space, and product photography treated like portraiture.
The store is built around the weave — each piece introduced by its technique and region, so a customer learns the craft as they shop. Fast, mobile-first, and fully owned by the client from day one.
Palette
Drawn from natural dyes — maroon, rust, temple-green and zari gold on an unbleached cream, so the site feels woven from the same threads.
Type
A high-contrast serif for headings carries the heritage; a clean grotesk keeps the shop legible and modern.
Build
WooCommerce, theme-customised. Mobile-first, image-optimised, SEO foundation, and full client ownership of store, hosting and domain.
Proof that a Bespoke budget can still feel like heritage.
